Evaluation

Evaluation

Throughout this project I have gained a wider understanding within Adobe InDesign, such as the use of kerning as well as paragraph and character styles, the process in which I took to create my E-Brochure has taught me that prior research and development must be undertaken when creating Brochure style content. I put my skills within Photoshop to use within this project, with photo manipulation and other effects. Ultimately I am pleased with the final design.

Update #3

Update #3
Photoshop Work

After finding the images I would be using I went on to edit them within Photoshop so that they would fit the theme of my Victorian Entertainments brochure.

By giving the images specific layers styles within Photoshop allowed for me to give a unique design with the use of InDesign's built in image effects.

This step was repeated with all of my images in order to keep the image effects consistent to the theme.

Update #2

Update 2#

In order to complete the project I had to research into the types of Victorian entertainment that I was promoting, with this in mind, I set out to find images that I would use within the document.
These are some of the images that I found from my google search results,
I was able to find such large images by filtering out with google's implemented image search tools.

Update #1

Update 1#

Searching for Fonts

In order to find a font that fit my theme I extended my search for fonts onto the internet and found a variety of fonts from DaFont.com

I then used the search function to filter out Victorian style text and found the one that I would use.
After this I set out and choose my swatches for my house style in order to keep consistency through out the project.

Reasearch & Progression

Victorian Entertainments:

First thing I set out in doing was understanding the exhibition that I would be producing for, I gained an idea of the entertainments that I would be covering and the themes and colours I would use.

My research lead me to discover a Victorian magician John Nevil Maskelyne, John Nevil Maskelyne was an English stage magician and inventor of various Victorian-Era inventions.

This lead my research into his inventions of automaton drawing machines.

In order to create the brochure, I will be researching various different entertainments, including the Victorian era's strongman

After gaining some inspiration I attempted to make a start on the background images I would be using, initially I was going to use a scrunched up piece of paper, however gained the understanding that the image I had chosen (below) would not fit my Victorian Theme.

After discovering this was not suitable I set out to find another background image.
